Recovery time??
Hi there! I had my surgery (lap rny) on May 23rd and I go back to work on the 26th of June. Now, some of that was my preference cuz I wanted to be on a firm schedule before i went back to my shift work. It all depends on what type of work you do and whether you have a lap rny or open rny. I could have gone back a week ago but just didn't want to. Hope this helps! Good luck on your journey through WLS!!
I had my surgery on September 11th (Tuesday) and went back to school full time on Monday September 24th. I should add I was a bit of a freak, very determined to be back to it in 2 weeks, I went to class and all that with my binder on and staples still in lol.

I had my lap rny on April 11th and was back at work doing no more than 6 hours of work by April 28th. I also have an office job but it was my choice to do part-time that first week so that I could ease back into the full days without getting overly tired. But do check with your doctor's office just to be sure.

I was 26 also when I had my surgery...I work a fairly busy and active job with the fire department...so i was really worried about the fatigue and adjusting to so few calories when i went back...
I scheduled three weeks off...but felt great after the first week and went back on the second...
Everyone is different, and your job might require your doctor to clear you to work again...so trust what your body is telling you and youll know when it's time

I had surgery on January 14th, and went back to work on January 22. I woul have been back sooner, but I had surgery out of town, and they made me stay there for the first week. I felt great. Really though, I dont think I am the norm...I didnt have any pain or problems at all. Recovery was a breeze for me.
